Finally getting a place to rent is not the end of our problems. Finding the furnitures to go into the place is another new problem we’re facing. We have to buy a fridge, a washing machine, a dining table, etc…
Finding furniture here, well… Ikea furniture here is so far the cheapest we found. Different story if we’re back in Malaysia huh… Ikea is one of the most expensive in Malaysia. Not here in Melbourne. Every furniture we saw are like 4 digits. And Ikea seemed like the cheapest. So, my cousin dropped Mat and I off in Ikea, and we spent half a day there scouting for stuffs and comparing prices.
Looking for a fridge and washing machines is not easy as well. We went to Harvey Norman’s, went to Myers, went to Retravision… so far Harvey Norman offers the cheapest washing machine and fridge.
LG 2 door fridge = $499
Haier 6kg washing machine = $ 399
Ikea dining table with 4 chairs = $99
The look of Mat’s popping-out-of-the-socket-eyes = $priceless
We haven’t added things like pots and pans, plates and cutleries, the sofa, TV?
Thank the Lord for blessing us with a free queen size bed. My friend is giving it to us!
