It seems like I’m on a blogroll here. A new post nearly everyday? Hope I have new and exciting things to share with you guys often. I hope you guys enjoy reading my posts too!
Ok, back to my topic – from ipod to bicycle. If some of you have read Mat’s post, you know what I mean. Last Saturday wasn’t exactly a smooth day especially for Mat. On that Saturday morning, we went to do our grocery shopping at Coles. To reach Coles, we’ll pass by Safeway and Kmart. While passing by Kmart, we both saw an A4 sized yellow piece of paper with the prints – IPOD Shuffle, $64 only. Doesn’t ipod shuffle sell for $99? It’s cheap!!! No matter how tempting the price looked, we both knew we didn’t had the budget for it, unless it’s really really necessary. Since I don’t really listen to MP3s, and Mat’s mp3 player is still working, we both took a deep breath and shrugged the temptation off. So off we went to Coles.
After coming back from Coles, somehow, we forgot to buy something. I was too lazy to go out again, but Mat said he doesn’t mind going out himself again. He took with him his mp3 player. Apparently, while putting on his mp3 player, no sound came out! Is this a sign? You could imagine what went through his head while walking to Coles, passing by Kmart and that yellow little advert screaming at him to get a brand NEW ipod shuffle. He, of course went into Kmart to check out the ipod shuffle. Only 3 left. But somehow, shrugged off the idea, went to Coles and bought the missing item and came back.
Let me tell you a little something about Mat. When something goes wrong, no matter how little the problem is, he gets very very “kan chiong”. He will try his best to fix/solve it, or if it can’t be fixed/solved, he gets really really worried. Well… he couldn’t fix his mp3 player. He kept asking me whether it’s a sign, whether he should get the shuffle… etc…
Last week I earned myself a little extra pocket money from a casual job that I found. So, to calm Mat down, I decided to buy the shuffle for him. I told him, “if the shuffle is not bought, you’ll never calm down.” So, off we went to Kmart… AGAIN… 3rd time for Mat… feeling excited, we went straight to the ipod shuffles.
NO MORE!!! FINISHED!!! GONE!!!
Mat’s facial expression was both dissappointed and relieved at the same time. Dissappointed because it’s all gone, relieved because he doesn’t need to think about getting the shuffle…
So how did it turn out to be a bicycle? After the ipod shuffle drama… we went to check out the bicycles. Mat did thought of getting a bike next weekend before his tram ticket expires. This happened so fast. Kmart also had a promotion on their bikes. This particular bike Mat was eyeing on was selling off fast. I saw there was maybe only 3 left. So happen there was a Kmart salesman there… it happened so fast, he pulled out the box, said “if you don’t get it now, it will be gone pretty soon”. Not wanting the ipod shuffle experience to haunt us, we just got it anyway.
So there… a tiny iPod shuffle, turned into a gigantic bicycle. One happy boy was smiling all the way back home.

A happy boy excited to assemble his brand new ipod shuffle, I mean, bike.

One excited boy on his brand new bike!
We couldn’t bring it out on the street to test it yet, because it is the law here that you must wear a bike helmet when riding a bike. We just bought the helmet yesterday so, I’ll blog another post soon about testing the ipod shuffle… i mean… the bike.
