Last Sunday after church, Mat and I found out that there will be a dragon boat race at Docklands. The last time we visited docklands was during New Year’s eve to watch the fireworks. So I thought it would be nice to visit Docklands again during the day. It was an extremely hot Sunday afternoon that I had a sunburn!
We didn’t know that there are a number of trams which goes to Docklands directly until we reached there
So to reach there in the first place, we took the long way…. by walking. It was a good thing though, cause we got to see more things. First we took the tram to Southern Cross Train Station.
Then right next to the train station is Telstra Dome. By the way, Telstra is like Celcom in Malaysia.

Just a short walk away from the Train Station, Telstra Dome
Of course the stadium was closed unless there is a major sporting event like football. So we could only manage to peek from the gates.

Sneak Peek of the inside of Telstra Dome
While walking around the Telstra Dome, there was this building which had an anchor hanging from it. Maybe they were afraid the building will sail off or something.
And the next thing we saw, reminded us of someone’s blogname…. hehehehe.
Julia, I didn’t know you own a Tabaret centre… jeng jeng jeng!
And finally, we reached Docklands. Guess what greeted us…
Can you guess what is on this man-made bare tree?
Try and guess… got it?… still can’t get it?….
It’s a cow. Go figure.
Our main purpose to Docklands was to see the dragon boat race right… well… it ain’t that great. So empty one. And so not happening… compared to the dragon boat races I’ve seen in the pass. There was a race every 15 minutes, and we were there in just the right time the next race was about to start. And when I was just about to get ready with my camera… the battery flat!!! Hahahaha… but we brought new ones, changed the flat ones, and the camera was on just in time for them to come through the finish line.

They didn’t come in first, but they were the most fancy dressed… the viking hats.
Docklands is a place were you can HL – Hao Lian. If you can afford it, you can buy a property here facing the dock and a parking lot to park your fancy boat.
There were some interesting things to see that day. There were many sculptures on display.

One step from this man, is going to break him in pieces
Then there were these guys:
It’s interesting, and really caught my attention, but don’t let this fool you as they fooled many that day. I heard people saying “These guys are crazy to do that” and “wow, how they hold their breath so long”. I kind of laughed… Look at it properly. It’s just an illusion.

A whole new meaning to the title “Flower Girls”
Mat and I took a look into the water. We saw some white colour things in it and we both thought “Wow… the water is so clear and shallow that you can even see the light bulbs”. We were pretty amazed how “shallow” the water was, until we saw even more “light bulbs”. Then we stopped, and really really really stared into the water. Something is not right… there shouldn’t be so many light bulbs in the water.

What we thought were light bulbs
They were in fact JELLY FISH!!!!! CRIKEY! They were jelly fishes! AND SO MANY OF THEM! and they are HUGE!!!!!! Apparently, another bloke also thought they were light bulbs until he saw us staring into the water and taking photos.
Next time when you see alot of “light bulbs” in the water, stop and stare. It might not be what you think it is.
Update: I just found out the name of this jellyfish. It’s called a Blubber jellyfish.

wow their jelly fish r pretty healthy and beautiful eh!!
yalor yalor, like very fat and succulent… hahaha… but I wouldn’t want to be in the water man… it feels poisonous.
