Mat and I had a fantastic little holiday during the weekend. We were invited by a doctor friend to stay in a small little town of Lorne somewhere on The Great Ocean Road.
I don’t even know where to begin our journey. I took nearly the whole day just editing the photos. And you know, the problem with using a digital camera is that you tend to take toooooooo many photos, and choosing the right photos at the end of the day is such a headache.
I really enjoyed the drive to Lorne. The scenery was just beautiful, with beaches and cliffs and small little towns along the way. Just before we reached Lorne, our doctor friend couldn’t wait to get into the water for a surf. So we kinda stopped abruptly at this little entrance to the beach.
When was the last time I went to the beach? I can’t even remember. The sand is not white, but it’s so fine, not rough, and the beach is so clean.

So while our friend surfed, we walked along the beach just enjoying the wind and the crashing sound of the waves.
There was no crowd, which was just fantastic. We could see people walking their dogs and little kids flying kites along the way. We tried to walk to the lighthouse at Split Point, but it seemed like we could never reach the lighthouse. Too far away I guess.
We did manage to visit that lighthouse on the last day of our little holiday. I’ll write that on a separate post.
We reached Lorne at 6pm. An extremely small little town beside the sea. We rested while our friend went to work at the hospital there, and then went for dinner together, and then knocked off.
Be back tomorrow for more of our trip up The Great Ocean Road.
